About Me
Hello and welcome!
I'm Caitlyn and am currently a senior at Loyola University New Orleans. With how the last year has been, it's still weird to think I am about to graduate and begin the crazy journey that is adulthood. However, I am grateful to have the skills I accumulated throughout my time at Loyola and am incredibly excited to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and minor in Mass Communications this coming May!
I fell in love with Theatre in high school after attending a pretty competitive school in Texas. I took a class that was meant for students who wanted to pursue Theatre at a university level and auditioned for Loyola at a cattle-call audition during the Texas Thespian Festival in 2016. It was a natural thing for me to do at the time and I knew it would also give me access to scholarship opportunities. After an intense amount of applications and auditions, I finally decide to attend Loyola. With it's Jesuit style of learning, Loyola quickly gave me an education that challenged me to think outside the traditional theatre box. It was my sophomore year I decided to add a minor in Mass Communications, and I really began to take a liking to Public Relations, non-profit work, design, and even sports media. I love the fact that my education here has given me exposure to a wide range of professions that I feel will make me marketable in the long-run.
My junior year, I began an internship at Privy Label, a fashion company that helps Start-Up brands with creating small batch clothing lines. I loved how they're approach was on being American-made while also sustainable. I helped with contacting factories getting fabric details for a large database they give to clients, as well as small things like running to the New Orleans factory to pick-up and drop-off items as well as post-office runs. Unfortunately my time there was cut short due to the Pandemic but I really enjoyed my time working with Founder Jessica Osborn and Director of Operations Cristina Contreras.
Today, I work in production with Tulane Athletics. I help film games in basketball, volleyball, and baseball. I've always loved sports so being able to also work in live production has been such a rewarding, and sometimes stressful experience!
